What is the Early Access Toolkit?

The Early Access Toolkit provides LiveEdge customers with the ability to develop, test, and implement workflows based on the new Max device.

Who can join the Early Access Toolkit?

Supplies of Max are limited so the Early Access Toolkit is open to existing customers who have production workflows based on the LiveEdge Ecosystem and the current EdgeCaster VCP device.

When is the soonest that I can get Max?

The initial batch of Max devices will be available in August 2023.

What type of customer & developer support is provided?

Support will be provided through the LiveEdge® Developer Program for initial unboxing, app and workflow development. Upon transition to a production workflow support will be provided under vCare via our Help Center.

What workflows will Max support?

The initial release of LiveEdge® OS 10 will support workflows around single/dual 12G-SDI inputs and 4Kp60.

What if I need my Max workflow to go live?

The Max Early Access Toolkit is only for development and testing of non-production workflows. If you need to go live, let us know and we can provide you with timing and a quote for the production subscriptions needed. Note that your Max Early Access device will need to be replaced prior to switching to a more secure production workflow. Upon GA, we will provide you with an Advanced Replacement and instructions on how to return your Early Access device.

What is the release cadence for updates to LiveEdge® OS 10?

We are on a 6-week release cadence, however during the Early Access period we will will be issuing updates much more frequently.

How do I make sure that my Max is running the last release?

Each time Max is rebooted, it will automatically reach out to our update servers and prompt when an update is available.

Will Max have feature parity for EdgeCaster for VCP?

Yes, except for interlaced inputs, which may have lower video quality at first. This function has been moved to the FPGA. For a list of know limitations, check your Max Early Access Information Packet.

Will a container developed for EdgeCaster VCP work?

Yes, Docker containers developed for EdgeCaster will work on Max but it's alway best to test.

Can I rack mount Max?

Yes, there is an option for a 19” 1RU rack tray that is 5.95” deep. There is room for 2 Max devices on the shelf, which is optimized for side-to-side airflow. We also have performance air diverters in the works that will divert the air to the rear of the rack.

Is there a 2Go option for Max?

No, not at this time… That said, 2Go is designed to be totally customizable. We would love to hear from you if this would be of interest.

How do I Register Max?
